Start of training 2024 at Kuhn Special Steel

On 15 August 2024, eight trainees started their first year of training together at Kuhn Special Steel. Continue reading

Two industrial clerks, four cutting machine operators and two industrial mechanics are starting. We are delighted about the new additions to our team and wish them much joy and success in this new phase of their lives!

The search for suitable trainees is becoming more difficult from year to year, but we also see it as part of our social responsibility to provide the next generation with a good start to their careers through solid training and to continue to counteract the shortage of skilled labour.

On the first two days, the new trainees got to know each other and gained their first insights into the work at the training centre and in the commercial departments. The first working week of the junior staff then began with the traditional team training together with the trainees from the higher training years. This started with a visit to one of our customers in Salzgitter. Here, the new and ‘old’ trainees were able to marvel at how and where our products are used. In the evening, they travelled on to Schierke, where various team-building activities took place the next day, such as an orienteering course and climbing together.

While the industrial-technical trainees are now learning the basics of their metalworking profession at the company’s own training centre, the industrial clerks are already spreading out into the commercial departments after the team training.

And as it is well known that after the start of training is before the start of training, the application process for the 2025 training programme has already begun. Kuhn Special Steel is offering the following apprenticeships for the coming training year: Industrial clerk, cutting machine operator (with and without A-levels), construction mechanic, industrial mechanic, warehouse specialist, machine and plant operator and foundry mechanic. In addition, we are again offering dual study programmes in industrial engineering and mechanical engineering in combination with training as an industrial clerk or cutting machine operator.
